RedditScout ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome Extension for researching Reddit posts and comments. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you sign in with Google, we collect your email address and a unique account identifier. We also store your subscription plan (Free or Premium) and a daily usage count to enforce plan limits. That is all we store server-side.
All Reddit content you scrape — post titles, URLs, upvote counts, comment text, and scrape history — is stored only on your local device via Chrome's built-in storage API. This data is never transmitted to our servers, never seen by us, and never leaves your machine. Session state (last active tab, onboarding progress, usage counters) is also local-only.
Your email, plan status, and usage count are used solely to operate the extension — to authenticate your account, enforce daily scrape limits, and restore your session. We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to any third party, except as required by law.
Detects when you are on a Reddit page and auto-fills the subreddit name in the popup. No tab content, browsing history, or non-Reddit URLs are ever read or stored.
Saves your scrape history locally and persists session state — last active tab, onboarding step, and daily usage count. No scraped Reddit data leaves your device.
Fetches publicly available post and comment data from Reddit's JSON API endpoints (www and old Reddit). Only public content is accessed. No Reddit credentials are collected or stored.
Syncs your account plan (Free/Premium) and daily usage count. No Reddit content is ever sent to Supabase.
Hosts this privacy policy and terms of service page. No user data is sent to GitHub.
Google OAuth — sign-in only (email + account ID). Supabase — plan and usage count. Stripe — payment processing. Reddit content you scrape is never sent to any of these services.
RedditScout accesses Reddit data via Reddit's publicly available JSON API. No Reddit content is stored or processed on our servers.
Server-side account data is retained while your account is active. Local scrape history stays on your device until you clear it. You may request deletion of your account data at any time.
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us on Telegram: @jjeparcs.
By installing or using RedditScout ("the extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the extension.
RedditScout is for personal, non-commercial content research. You agree not to use the extension to violate Reddit's Terms of Service, scrape data for resale, or engage in any unlawful activity.
RedditScout is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Reddit Inc. Reddit data is accessed via Reddit's publicly available JSON API.
The extension is provided "as is" without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy of results, or fitness for any purpose. Reddit API availability is outside our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the extension.
Premium subscriptions (.90/mo) are processed via Stripe. All purchases are final. If Premium access was not granted after a successful payment, contact us via Telegram and we will resolve it manually.
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the extension constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
